Alleged Suspects wanted for armored car robberies in Dania Florida

wanted.gif

ARMORED CAR ROBBERIES

One Alleged Suspect (possibly the driver)

CAUTION

Up to six unknown male suspects are being sought for their alleged involvement in two recent Brinks armored car robberies in Florida. A sketch of the suspect believed to be the driver in the first robbery is shown above.

On September 22, 2009, Brinks guards were making a delivery in Dania, Florida. It is alleged that the guards were confronted by two men, wearing ski masks, who allegedly pointed AK-47 assault rifles at them. Shots were fired and one guard sustained injuries to his leg that are non-life threatening. The suspects escaped in a stolen blue cargo van that was found abandoned a short distance from the scene of the robberies. The van had been set on fire. The suspects are believed to have gotten into a Red Dodge Magnum and fled the area.

On September 24, 2009, another armored car robbery occurred in Miami Gardens, Florida. A Brinks guard went into a gas station/convenience store carrying a blue canvas bag for a pickup. When the guard left the store, two male suspects wearing ski masks allegedly pointed handguns at the guard who dropped the bag and ran to the other side of the Brinks truck. It is alleged that one of the suspects picked up the bag and the other ran after the guard and took his gun. The two suspects then allegedly fled the scene in a stolen white Dodge Intrepid driven by a third suspect. The car was found abandoned a short distance from the gas station.

SUSPECTS

The suspects are Black males. They wore black clothing and black ski masks, except for at least the driver in the first robbery.

REWARD

The FBI is offering a reward of up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects. Additional rewards may be offered by other sources.

SHOULD BE CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS

IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS CASE, PLEASE CONTACT YOUR LOCAL FBI OFFICE OR THE NEAREST AMERICAN EMBASSY OR CONSULATE.

The FBI this week released a “digitally-altered” image showing what Osama Bin Laden possibly looks like now …The FBI Sucks at Photoshop

The FBI this week released a “digitally-altered” image showing what Osama Bin Laden possibly looks like now he’s older.

While the FBI claims to have used “cutting edge” technology to create the image, a Spanish politician has noticed that the poster is a modified version of his campaign photo — he now finds his face in America’s most wanted list.

While on the surface it’s an amusing misstep by intelligence agencies, Gaspar Llamazares, the former leader of Spain’s United Left coalition, calls the move “shameless”. His safety is at risk, he told the BBC, and he no longer feels able to travel to America now his likeness is on a wanted poster: “Bin Laden’s safety is not threatened by this but mine certainly is”, Llamazares said.

\
Left, Bin Laden in 1998; middle, the FBI image; right, Gaspar Llamazares

The FBI is quoted admitting to the error, saying that the artist found the photo on the web and didn’t know it was of a Spanish politician:

When producing age-progressed photographs, forensic artists typically select features from a database of stock reference photographs to create the new image…it appears that in this instance the forensic artist was unable to find suitable features among the reference photographs and obtained those features, in part, from a photograph he found on the internet.

The forensic artist was not aware of the identity of the individual depicted in the photograph. The similarities between the photos were unintentional and inadvertent.

We don’t think it matters that the man in question was a notable politician: using photos from an image search to create a most wanted poster is surely putting the subject at risk, is it not?…Source Mashable

Twitter becomes key evidence in murder case

It started as a simple Twitter beef, 140-character spurts of anger by two young men who grew up together.

Jameg Blake, 22, is accused of shooting and killing Kwame Dancy (below) after the two childhood friends got into a tiff on Twitter…the tough talk exploded out of cyberspace and onto the streets of Harlem, where a college student was gunned down feet from Gov. Paterson’s home.

Now tweets sent by victim Kwame Dancy, 22, and accused killer Jameg Blake, 22, could become key evidence in a murder trial, the Daily News has learned.

Dancy’s mother, Madeline Smith, is appalled Internet chest-thumping could have led to blood spilled on the sidewalk.

“That’s not a reason to shoot somebody,” she said last week. “That’s crazy. I don’t know what’s going on with that Twitter thing.”

Dancy, who was studying to be a nurse, was killed by a shotgun blast to the neck Dec. 1 across from Lenox Terrace in Harlem, where he grew up with his father.

Blake – who lived on the same floor as Dancy, one floor below Paterson in the luxury high-rise on W. 132nd St. – was arrested two days later.

Charged with murder, he pleaded not guilty Wednesday and was held without bail.

Kwame Dancy was shot and killed a few feet from Gov. Paterson’s home in Harlem.

—Police sources said the two had a rocky relationship and the Twitter messages they posted – with friends jumping in – only made it worse.

Hours before the shooting, Dancy may have taunted Blake with a tweet: “N—–s is lookin for u don’t think I won’t give up ya address for a price betta chill asap!”

Blake’s Twitter account is also full of online disses, though only one tweet mentions Dancy by name: “R.I.P. Kwame” on Dec.3.

A police source said the messages may be subpoenaed to bolster the theory that there was bad blood between the two old pals.

But the Twitter beef wasn’t the only strain; Dancy and Blake fought last summer over a girl in front of Lenox Terrace, sources said.

Despite the insults and fisticuffs, when Blake was collared, Dancy’s mom was stunned.

“They were good friends, that’s the sad part about it,” said Smith, who is divorced from Dancy’s dad and lives in Brooklyn. “Obviously, I didn’t know him like I thought I did. I just want to ask him. ‘Why? How could you?’”

She said her son had taken off a semester from Manhattan Community College and was training with the Visiting Nurse Service of New York. He planned to return to school and get his degree.

He had tried to steer Blake – a high school dropout and father of a baby boy – to get his GED.

“They’ve been friends since they were kids. Kwame would often try to help when [Blake] was going through stuff – and this was his thank you?” Smith said.

Blake’s arrest was particularly shocking because he showed up at Harlem Hospital after Dancy was shot and hugged his father.

“Either he wanted to see if he actually killed [Kwame] or he wanted to see if anyone knew he did it,” Smith said.

Authorities have a witness who identified Blake as the gunman, and video shows Blake leaving Lenox Terrace around the time of the shooting with a bag large enough to hold a shotgun.

Records also show Blake used his phone around the time and place of the shooting. The murder weapon, a shotgun with a spent shell, was recovered with two shirts in Central Park.

Blake’s parents and lawyer Thomas Klein declined to comment.

Meanwhile, Dancy’s mom cries every night about her son.

“He said, ‘Mommy, I’m going to be a nurse,’” she said. “And look at this – we’ll never know how far he would have gone. His dream was snatched from him, over foolishness.”…Source; nydailynews.com

Hurry…Get Your Facebook Vanity URL Before ITS TOO LATE !!!!

Mitch Bail BondsHELP YOUR FRIENDS BY SPREADING THIS VERY IMPORTANT TIP  VIA EMAIL, FACEBOOK AND TWITTER

Tonight, at 12:01 a.m. eastern (Saturday morning), Facebook will make it possible to create a customized link for your profile – affectionately known around the tech world as a vanity URL.

Right now, your Facebook URL appears something like this:

http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=123456789

After you modify your URL (I’ll show you how), you’ll have a much more clean-looking Facebook address, such as:

http://www.facebook.com/cglynch.

.

Twitter and LinkedIn have had this capability for quite some time. On those two services, you simply go to your account settings to modify it. But on Facebook, the capability has not been made available – until 12:01 a.m. eastern this Saturday.

It will be interesting to see if Facebook’s core user base stumbles back early from the bars or stays in altogether tonight to snag their URL of choice. Not everyone will stay up for this privilege. But if you are in front of a computer at that time, log onto Facebook and then point your browser to www.facebook.com/username/.

According to a blog post by Facebook, you will be prompted to choose a username. Facebook may suggest some options (see screen shot below), or you can create your own if it’s still available. If you have a “Joe Smith” type of name, you should try and get onto Facebook as close to the 12:01 a.m. time as possible.

Your username for the vanity URL must be at least five characters long and be all alphanumeric characters (A-Z, 0-9).

A word of caution: Don’t go for anything funny or cute. Play it straight. According to Facebook, “Once it’s been selected, you won’t be able to change or transfer it.”

Judge Rules That Seizure of Drunk Drivers’ Car is Unconstitutional

Our Miami DUI defense attorneys have been following a news story out of Illinois. A judge ruled that the state law aimed atMiami Bail Bondpenalizing repeat DUI offenders by giving police the authority to seize their vehicles is unconstitutional. The judge ruled that the statute gives the state too broad an authority, saying the law violates the due process clauses protected in both state and federal constitutions.

The ruling came out of a case involving three men who claimed the law did not allow defendants to petition a judge for return of their vehicles until their drunk driving case was resolved. Seized vehicles are periodically auctioned off or assigned to local law enforcement officers for their use.

Anti-drunk driving groups say the damages imposed on the vehicle’s co-owners or family members are far less than the greater public good. The county’s attorney apparently hopes to appeal the ruling to the state’s Supreme Court.Source; DUI.com

Caught on Tape: Parents use small children to steal from store on Christmas Day

It’s a crime leaving a lot of people to scratch their heads, as a family is caught on surveillance video stealing from a store on Christmas Day.

The theft happened in Paramount, California and the store’s surveillance system caught it all. Police say the parents appear to be using their own children, as young as four years old, to take everything from clothing to cash.

In one part of the video, two young boys are spotted reaching into the cash register and stealing money, over and over again, grabbing only large bills. Police say there is audio on the recordings and that investigators hear the mother instructing the boys what to do.

Police say the children could be seen holding up shirts and communicating with the adults, in what appears to be the children asking if they have the right thing.

Police say it looks like this family either has done this before or practiced quite a bit.

Investigators say the parents face multiple charges. Source www2.wnct.com – eyewitness news 9.

Tiger Woods 911 Call Released

Following a car accident at 2:25am Friday morning, golf superstar Tiger Woods has stayed mum on what happened. He reportedly drove his 2009 Cadillac Escalade into a fire hydrant and a neighbor’s tree. Officers responded to a call from Woods’ neighbor and found him bruised and bloody near his home in Isleworth.

The Florida Highway Patrol is planning a news conference for 3pm today.

Neighbors for the Woods family said through their attorney that they noticed no indications that fighting or alcohol or drugs were a factor in the car accident. Despite this, troopers went into the Woods’ home in an attempt to figure out what happened leading up the accident. The Woods’ lawyer met troopers in the driveway and told them his client was unavailable. The attorney also announced that Woods was cancelling interviews. Instead, Woods posted a note on his website stating that accident “is a private matter and I want to keep it that way.” Source; Orlando Sentinel December 2009

parkland florida considering to ban texting while driving

Parkland Commissioner Jared Moskowitz plans to ask the City Commission to pass a ban on texting while driving within Parkland’s city limits. They would become the first city in Broward County to pass such a ban.

The main argument in favor of the ban is that text messaging behind the wheel creates a dangerous and unnecessary distraction. In fact, a recent study by a vehicle safety research organization found that drivers who text while behind the wheel of a car or other motor vehicle are 23 times more likely to crash than other drivers. Another study out of Virginia Tech’s Transportation Institute found that the average text message takes the driver’s eyes away from the road for 4.6 out of every six seconds.

However, critics worry that it could be difficult to enforce the ban, because some drivers don’t know when they enter city limits and it could be hard for law enforcement officials to see if someone is texting while they’re driving upwards of 30 mph.

The fines for texting behind the wheel have yet to be determined, but they could mirror similar laws in other states. For instance, California fines drivers $20 for their first offense. Lawmakers say they are still pushing for a statewide ban on texting while driving.

Parkland could become first Broward city to crack down on texting while driving. Source; South Florida Sun Sentinel, August 17, 2009
