Florida Bail Bond News

A Lee County woman said she could help get two men released from jail on bond, but couldn’t legally work as a bondsman. She also was fired from a florida bail bond company once the owner found she had a criminal background.

Judith Delosreyes, 28, who lists addresses of the 27000 block of Pinecrest Lane, Bonita Springs and the 9000 block of San Carlos Boulevard in Fort Myers, was charged Thursday with grand theft and acting as a bail bond agent without a license. On Friday she remained in Lee County Jail pending posting of a total of $10,000 in bonds. She has several aliases including Judith De Los Reys, Vanessa Delosreyes, Judith Da Ramirez, Judith Delos Reyes and Judith Ramirez.

Delosreyes also was fired from Second Chance Bail Bonds on Fowler Street in Fort Myers when the owner found out she had a criminal background check. On Oct. 13, Onil Martinez told Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies she was employed by the last of Ramirez from Aug. 15 through Sept. 15, 2008, and she had been referring people to him for bonds.

According to an arrest report:

Jessica Ayala said on Sept. 16, her two younger brothers, David Chavarria, 22, and Luis Chavarria, 19, both of the 9200 block of King Road, San Carlos Park, were in jail a woman — Delosreyes “claimed that she worked for a bail bonds company and would arrange to bail Luis Chavarria out for $200. Ayala and Elizabeth Mejia, who was dating the younger brother, gave Delosreyes the money. The next day she said she needed $300 more and the money was provided.

On. Sept. 18, Ayala was told her brother would be released from jail, however later that day, she learned neither brother had bonds posted.

Ayala called the woman several times to no avail until Sept. 22. Delosreyes said she would return the money, but never did.

Luis Chavarria was released from jail on Oct. 24, while his brother remains jailed.
