Teenager Accused of Murdering Lauderdale Lakes Grandmother for $34

A 16 year old boy stabbed his 62 year old neighbor to death and then stole $34 from her purse. The teenager is being detained at the Broward County Juvenile Assessment Center in Fort Lauderdale.

A teenager broke into his neighbor’s apartment, stabbed her repeatedly and robbed her — for $34, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Vibbins Williams’ granddaughter found the 62-year-old woman barely breathing and lying in a pool of blood in the 4800 block of Northwest 24th Court about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The granddaughter, who was not identified, called 911 and paramedics took Williams to Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, where she died.

Detectives charged Williams’ 16-year-old neighbor with first-degree murder. He is being held in the Juvenile Assessment Center in Fort Lauderdale. The Sun Sentinel is not identifying the teen because of his age.

The youth confessed to stabbing Williams, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Source; South Florida Sun Sentinel …
